Getting Started in an Online Course

Registered for an online course? Here are
some steps to get you started. First, make sure your computer meets the
requirements for online classes. You can find the requirements on the Tri-C
online learning website. Second, check your email regularly for any
correspondence from the instructor or Online Learning and Academic Technology
office. OLAT will send you an email two weeks before your scheduled term begins
with helpful information. Third, log into Blackboard. Familiarize yourself with
Blackboard by reviewing the How To’s and the Support Resource area to learn how
to utilize Blackboard. Your registered courses will not appear until the first
day of class. On the first day of class you should do the following: Review the
Start Here area in each course; Read the syllabus; Take note of all course
announcements and schedules; Purchase your books if you have not already; Start
your course readings, complete assignments, and participate in
discussion boards. Do you have a smartphone? Tri-C’s Blackboard now
supports mobile devices. Now you can have instant access to all your online
classes. The Blackboard mobile app supports iOS Android and Windows 10.
